A Halloween transformation at Disneyland Resort led by a new park decorator

There’s a magic cast over the Disneyland Resort, and there’s spooky magic in the air this Halloween! Behind the spectacularly spooky decorations and festive displays is a dedicated team of cast members known as the Resort Enhancement Team. Among them is Nick Stauf, one of the team’s many dedicated cast members who bring the love of the holiday to life. This Halloween season marks Nick’s debut in transforming the Happiest Place on Earth into a spooky-fun wonderland – a childhood dream come true.

Nick began his career at the Disneyland Resort in 2013 and has delighted guests for over 11 years in a variety of roles, including attractions in star Wars: Edge of the Galaxy and Haunted Mansion. Now, as a decorator for Halloween Time, he’s excited to bring his creative spirit to the Downtown Disney District. “I couldn’t be happier to be working on this team,” he says.

Halloween is Nick’s favorite time of year, especially at Disneyland Resort where the colorful decorations fill him with joy. His passion for decorating was first sparked by one of his favorite attractions, Haunted Mansion Holiday, which inspired him to start making his own Christmas decorations as a personal hobby.

A childhood dream comes true

As a child, Nick was fascinated by the extraordinary attention to detail that went into the seasonal decorations that were put up throughout the resort each year. Since then, his dream has been to join the Resort Enhancement Team and add his unique touch to the holiday makeovers. This year, Nick was able to fulfill that dream by helping to redesign a special archway under which the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse statues are placed in the Downtown Disney District.

Nick is most excited about the return of the popular Halloween sculptures of Mickey Mouse and friends, which can be seen throughout the Downtown Disney District. “When I saw these sculptures as a child, I loved the magical feeling of knowing it was Halloween,” Nick said. “We haven’t seen these sculptures in almost 10 years, so I’m really excited to bring them back to our guests.”

From pumpkins to lighting and foliage, Nick and the Resort Enhancement Team have brought Halloween to life for Disneyland Resort guests this festive season.

During his illustrious career at the Disneyland Resort, Nick has created magic in many ways and looks forward to making even more dreams come true at the Happiest Place on Earth!
