British woman pleads guilty to publishing videos of brutal monkey torture

A Worcestershire woman has pleaded guilty to her involvement in a global monkey torture ring. She is accused of publishing an obscene article, sharing an image and 26 gruesome monkey torture videos online, and paying money to watch the torture of a baby macaque.

Adriana Orme is one of two British women charged in connection with brutal monkey torture videos. She was allegedly part of online groups that devised brutal methods to torture and kill baby monkeys and then paid people in Indonesia to carry out the acts on camera.

Lady Freethinker (LFT) and Action for Primates (AfP) first investigated and exposed the disturbing underground world of baby monkey videos in 2021. They also provided information to the BBC, resulting in the investigative documentary “The Monkey Haters.”

Since then, at least 20 people have been investigated and some have been sentenced to prison for their unspeakable acts.

“These videos contain some of the most horrific content I have seen in my years working in animal welfare,” AfP co-founder Sarah Kite told the Daily Mail. “The idea that people like Orme would come up with methods to torture helpless and vulnerable baby monkeys is beyond belief. To then pay someone to use such extreme violence is so disturbing that I believe they should be permanently banned from contact with children or animals.”

LFT congratulates those responsible for arresting Orme and bringing charges for her involvement in spreading this cruel, heartbreaking content, but there is still much work to be done.
