The world of James Cameron’s Avatar is expanding into Disney parks, with new attractions based on current films in the series – and projects we haven’t seen yet.
Disney revealed more about its plans for the Avatar theme park during the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23 2024. Avatar Land will open in Disney California Adventure and is themed after locations and characters from films like Avatar: The Way of Water. That means this Pandora theme park will feature ocean sights and sounds, but Disney is also planning attractions based on projects like the recently announced Avatar: Fire and Ash, as well as other future Avatar films.
Disney’s Ali Rubinstein teases that Avatar Land will feature everything Pandora has to offer, and that means scenarios that are as beautiful as they are dangerous. Below, you can get a first look at the concept art shared during the D23 presentation.

“This new and exciting excursion will bring all the action, excitement and wonder of Avatar and take guests to the vast seas of Pandora,” Rubinstein said in a post on the Disney Parks Blog website. “This will be a dynamic, intense and emotional experience on a large scale that we know our guests will love.”
The Disney Experiences Showcase offered three hours of surprises for every Disney fan, including the news that Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Tony Stark in a new attraction. It will be years before Disney’s park plans come to fruition, so in the meantime, check out everything the company announced at the Disney Entertainment Showcase here.
