CINCINNATI — Frontier Airlines has announced a new nonstop flight to Florida.
The airline announced Tuesday that it would offer nonstop service from CVG Airport to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
The flight will begin on October 12 and will be offered weekly. To celebrate the new flight, Frontier is offering fares starting at $29, the airline said.
“We’ve made Cincinnati our home as we’ve grown as a community, and we’re excited to offer affordable and convenient travel to sunny Sarasota just in time for the colder months,” said Josh Flyr, Frontier’s vice president of operations and network design.
The flight to Sarasota is Frontier’s 20th route at CVG.
The new flight also comes after Frontier opened a crew base in CVG in May. The base is expected to employ 80 pilots and 160 flight attendants in its first year. Along with other maintenance and airport jobs, the Frontier base is expected to generate $27 million in local wages, the airline said.
“We are pleased to have another option for local travelers to get from CVG to Florida’s Gulf Coast as this area continues to grow in popularity in our region,” said Candace McGraw, CEO of CVG.
