What really happened behind the scenes at the Democratic Party Convention with Beyonce?
If you don’t know, there were rumors that Beyonce was supposed to make a surprise appearance at the DNC. On the last day of the convention, the rumor heated up so much that TMZ even reported it was true.

Now two DNC leaders are speaking out about what happened behind the scenes.
The executive producer of the DNC Ricky Kirshner shared with THR“We never said anything about BeyonceWe denied it every time the media asked us about it – although people on my team didn’t believe me. I kept getting text messages from news agencies saying: “When is Beyonce Coming out?’ But let’s be honest, we have the biggest star, the Democratic presidential candidate. Why should we overshadow that?”
director Glenn Weiss added: “The internet takes on a life of its own and people take things for fact – literally to the point where people in my booth would say, ‘Is she coming? You can tell me.’ And I would say, ‘I don’t know she’s coming.’ And they would say, ‘No idea? So there’s something to know!’ It was pretty crazy. But she didn’t come. In the end, even TMZ (which first reported it) had to issue an apology.”
Towards the end of the evening at the DNC, BeyonceThe spokesperson eventually issued a statement saying that none of the rumors were true.
