Southwest’s latest sale offers one-way flights for —but you need to book soon

This new offer from Southwest Airlines makes it even easier to save on your fall vacation.

“Travel included in October,” the airline wrote about the promotion on its website. “New attractions at a bargain price! One-way flights from just $39.”

Until tomorrow, August 28, at 11:59 p.m. PT, travelers can find cheap flight deals to select destinations. The airline’s flights within the U.S. are valid for travel dates from September 17 to December 18, while tickets for travel between the Hawaiian islands can be booked for travel between September 17 and February 10, 2025.

To benefit from Southwest’s current offer, tickets must be purchased at least 21 days in advance. However, there are some exceptions and blackout dates for certain routes to note:

  • From November 26 to 27, travel to the continental United States will be closed.
  • From 18 December to 7 January, travel between the islands is closed
  • Flights to/from Orange County and travel to/from the continental U.S. to Hawaii, Puerto Rico or international destinations excluded

No promo code is required for these offers, and many of these nonstop flights are also discounted when redeemed with Southwest Rapid Rewards points. Travel + Leisure These promotional one-way fares for $39 or 1,844 points are listed:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to/from Columbus (CMH)
  • Austin (AUS) to/from Dallas (DAL)
  • Boston (BOS) to/from Baltimore (BWI) $39
  • Chicago (MDW) to/from Detroit (DTW) and Grand Rapids (GRR)
  • Denver (DEN) to/from Montrose-Telluride (MTJ)
  • Las Vegas (LAS) to/from Long Beach (LGB) and Los Angeles (LAX)
  • Los Angeles (LAX) to/from Phoenix (PHX) and San Francisco (SFO)

Travelers can find even more special offers using the airline’s handy low fare calendar and compare fares on Google Flights with those of other airlines to ensure they get the best price.

The sale comes as the airline has expanded its schedule through April 7, 2025, with several overnight flights planned. In the new year, Southwest plans to introduce assigned seating and seats with more legroom – a first for the airline in over 50 years.
