The elegant studio images of historic and legendary GT and racing cars by recognized master photographer Michael Furman are juxtaposed with the modern abstract automotive art of David Wiener, an internationally renowned automotive designer and artist.
This is the first in a series of exhibitions that will offer art and car lovers the opportunity to view images of entire cars alongside their intimate details, uniquely comparing the engineering precision and creative expression of both artists. Wiener and Furman have spent their lives immersed in the world and culture of the car, feeling the passion and energy behind the great cars and moments in racing history. Furman’s artistic capture of the beauty of automotive design contrasts with Wiener’s fresh perspective on the world of automotive art as he pushes boundaries and transitions Formula 1 and other cars into modern art and beyond.
Michael Furman began his photography career at a young age and has spent his career photographing many of the world’s most significant cars and collections. He is an authority in automotive photography and has become the most sought-after photographer of significant automobiles worldwide. Michael has exhibited all over the world and created limited edition books for Taschen, Assouline and many others. A new book on the Bugatti Type 59 will be published by RetroMobile in Paris in January.
David has spent his life immersed in creativity. At 16, he was the youngest professional photographer to photograph the America’s Cup, Indy 500 and Formula 1 sailing races. Wiener’s artistic path led him into the fields of engineering and design, where he created a range of innovative products, vehicles, global brands and artwork. His artwork captures the essence of automotive culture through modern abstractions, often inspired by his extensive experience with legendary cars and racing events.
