NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Southwest Airlines passengers will be able to take direct flights to and from Music City and South Florida as early as spring next year.

In a press release, officials said the new service aims to provide passengers with a “smooth travel experience” on their way to Nashville – one of the country’s most popular travel destinations – or the coastal city of West Palm Beach.

The new route also underscores efforts to meet the evolving needs of travelers, including expanded access to key destinations across the country, the press release said. PBI reportedly carries more than eight million passengers annually.

“We are very excited to add Nashville as a PBI nonstop route, something passengers have requested for some time,” said Laura Beebe, PBI’s director of airports.
