It’s crazy to think that after nine episodes, we’re still meeting couples. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way‘s last season, but I’m grateful for it. The viewers got a break from James And Meitalia‘s annoying problem that kept cropping up, and introduced the latest episode to Joanne and her secret Irish husband, Sean. When this duo was first shown in the trailer, I admittedly rolled my eyes, but much to my surprise, they are something of my new favorite couple.
I guess it’s fair to say that the old adage of not judging a book by its cover applies here, and while so many married 90 Day couples break up, I trust these two to make it work. Is that just because they’re the most enjoyable duo I’ve seen this season? Partly, but there’s a lot to love about these two.
The introduction of Joanne and Sean was a bit embarrassing, but they seem to be nice people
The original introduction of Sean and Joanne in the trailer didn’t do them any favors. The Irish MMA fighter seemed like a guy who was gunning for enough fame to challenge Conor McGregor in his comeback fight, and Joanne was his secret “Real Housewife” in the States. It gave the impression of two people just trying to get on TV under the guise that their relationship sounded crazy.
Now, after watching an entire episode of content focused on both of them, I’m happy to admit that my initial assessment was wrong. While I doubt these two would get married without informing their families and children, they seem like genuinely nice people who love each other. Plus, they don’t describe their relationship as a “soft partnership,” so I’m all for seeing a lot more of them now that they’re together in Ireland.

In most cases I would 90 Day Fiancé couple who bring their children into the thick of the action. However, Sean and Joanne are already married and she is considering leaving the United States to live in Ireland permanently. If that’s the case, it’s imperative that her two sons come along on this trip to get to know him and get a feel for life in Ireland if they’re considering moving there.

They didn’t hold back.
The same goes for Sean, who brought his daughter along to announce the big news that they are now married and embarking on a trial period of cohabitation to see if this whole marriage can work. Under the best of circumstances, they might have told their children beforehand about such a major life change, but keeping them in the dark longer than necessary would be a mistake.
Of course, one cannot help but feel 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Just prepare these two for one or both of the bombshells to drop in the next episode. Three kids learn that their parents just remarried, which is going to be a lot for them to process, on top of meeting their step-siblings for the first time and having to adjust to living together, at least temporarily. Thankfully, both seem to agree that if their kids don’t approve of the relationship, it’s best to go their separate ways and dissolve the marriage, which I love to hear.
I’m not sure at this point if Sean or Joanne will make it, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll get through this season together. In a season where Statler And Dempsey-Wilkinson‘s van life saga ultimately ends with the end of their relationship, I need a little optimism to look forward. Hopefully they’re the sunshine this season needs!
