To commemorate the impact this man had through his portrayal of the Man of Steel, the first trailer for the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story was published and traces the life and impact of the man most associated with the red cape.
The trailer includes interviews with people close to Reeve, such as his family and fellow actors, as well as old interviews, film clips and home movies. The footage not only shows his acting and family life, but also the moments when he suffered the injuries that led to his disability. This film is not only about Reeve’s impact on the Superman franchise, but also how he became an inspiration to many outside of his acting career and how his legacy has shaped many.
Superman first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 and during CinemaCon it was announced that the film will have a limited release in theaters this year. At the time of writing, the documentary received a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating of 100%. This biographical feature film was directed by Peter Ettedgui And Ian Bonhoteand according to Deadline, Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the rights for $15 million.
