Olivia Munn admitted that she didn’t bake the birthday cake for her husband John Mulaney like she usually does.
On Monday, the 44-year-old “Magic Mike” actress, who recently confirmed her secret wedding to the comedian, shared a snapshot of the pre-made cakes she bought for her husband to celebrate his 42nd birthday in her Instagram stories.
One chocolate ice cream dessert read “Happy Birthday,” while the vanilla ice cream dessert read “John John!” Both treats were decorated with four red candles.
“I didn’t have the energy to bake a (bad) birthday cake this year so I went to the grocery store,” the Oklahoma native wrote above the post.
And even though she didn’t bake the cakes herself this year, the actress had a very good reason for doing so.

In her Instagram stories, she shared a snapshot of the pre-made cakes she bought for her husband to celebrate his 42nd birthday.
Last year, as she was carefully baking John’s cake, the couple’s two-year-old son, Malcolm Hiệp, destroyed the treat she had spent hours creating.
She added a snapshot of 2023’s cake inscription “Last year’s” while Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” played.
The three-tiered dessert was decorated with vanilla icing and lots of rainbow sprinkles, as well as candles that read “Happy Birthday.”
Oliva shared a clip of the silly cake fail at the time, saying: “I tried to make a four-layer birthday cake and the bottom layer is falling off.”
She joked: “Like and subscribe for more baking tips.” She later captioned another snap: “The cake was delicious. And ugly. A success!”
The actress and Mulaney welcomed their son, Malcolm, on Christmas Eve in December 2021 after making their relationship public in the spring of that year.
The comedian’s birthday celebration comes just weeks after he secretly tied the knot with the “X-Men: Apocalypse” star over the Fourth of July weekend.
According to People, only the couple’s two-year-old child and a witness were present at the couple’s wedding at a friend’s house in New York.
