New documentary follows the life and career of a film icon

For many people Christopher Reeve was an actor who played Superman. But the upcoming documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story“ is meant to show that he was so much more.

As seen in the trailer, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is a documentary that follows the life and career of Christopher Reeve. But it’s much more than just a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Superman. The documentary also focuses on what happened to Reeve after a tragic accident left him paralyzed.

The documentary was directed by Ian Bonhote And Peter Ettedgui. The filmmakers are probably best known for their work on the film, “McQueen.”

“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” hits theaters on September 21 and 25. You can watch the trailer below.

The story of Christopher Reeve is an astonishing rise from unknown actor to cult film star, and his definitive portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman set the standard for the superhero cinematic universes that dominate today’s cinema. Reeve portrayed the Man of Steel in four Superman films and played dozens of other roles that showcased his talent and range as an actor before he was injured in a near-fatal horseback riding accident in 1995 and left paralyzed from the neck down. After suffering quadriplegia, he became a charismatic leader and activist in the search for a cure for spinal cord injuries, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care – all while continuing his career in cinema in front of and behind the camera and devoting himself to his beloved family.
