The bankrupt daughter of the former Emir of Kano reacts to the accusation of wasting a cash gift from Governor Yusuf

Kano, Kano State – Zainab, daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, has denied allegations that she squandered the money given to her family by Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano.

According to Zainab, her family has faced many difficulties since her father’s death, including a lack of accommodation and money to continue her education.

In an interview with Daily trust In a report released on Monday, August 26, Zainab denied allegations of wasting the money released by the governor.

She explained that she only asked for help again because they needed more help to buy a house and send her brother back to school.

“I can’t be in this situation, without a home, my brother doesn’t go to school and we will be moving from place to place.

“I decided to beg him (the governor) again. I gave interviews and in those interviews I thanked him.

“I didn’t blackmail him (the governor), but I said we need more help to send my brother back to school, to find a home, anything he’s willing to help us with. I tried to reach him and tell him if maybe he could buy us a home instead of renting. I begged him and asked for his help. That’s why I turned to the media again.”

The 83-year-old Bayero died on June 6, 2014 and was buried according to Islamic rites in Kano.

He ruled from 1963 to 2014 and was the longest-serving emir in Kano’s history.
