From a boy encountering a shark in Tampa, Florida, to meditating monks in Cambodia, the winners of this year’s iPhone Photography Award are, according to the judges, “a powerful testament to the art of storytelling through photography.”

The annual competition is now in its 17th year and was launched in 2007 when the first iPhone “first began to inspire, excite and captivate users around the world”.
