Nestlé Vietnam continues to work with partners to support disadvantaged students ahead of the new school year.

After eight years of supporting the “Supporting for School” programme by Your Tre Newspaper, Nestlé Vietnam has helped nearly 10,000 students and opened up new opportunities for students in remote and disadvantaged areas. In 2024, Nestlé Vietnam will donate 1,500 backpacks with a total value of VND250 million ($10,000) to new students to help young people achieve their university dreams.

Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, deputy editor-in-chief of Your Tresaid: “Support for School” is one of the most important scholarships within the framework of the “For the Development of Tomorrow” programme, which is run by Your Tre. Over the past eight years, Nestlé Vietnam has distributed more than 10,000 backpacks to new students, with a total value of nearly VND 2 billion (USD 80,000). Nestlé Vietnam has made significant contributions to diversify the program’s support and spread love among less fortunate youth in the community. We look forward to the company’s support for upcoming community activities.”

In addition to the Support for School initiative, Nestlé Vietnam works with community initiatives targeting disadvantaged workers and students, including the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Lao Dong (Labor) Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association donated food items worth over 500 million VND ($20,000) to thousands of students and workers during events such as Spring Bus, Entrance Exam Support, Green Summer and Workers’ Month. In July 2024, Nestlé Vietnam donated 180,000 drinks worth over 2 billion VND ($20,000) to students as part of the Entrance Exam Support and Green Summer campaigns organized by the Student Association.

As the world’s leading food company, Nestlé aligns its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with its manufacturing and business operations. Every year, the company partners with organizations to implement CSR initiatives and distributes food to welfare recipients and poor households across the country.

Over the past three decades, Nestlé in Vietnam has worked with partners to create positive community impact and improve the quality of life of Vietnamese people. Thanks to its contributions to employees and the community, Nestlé Vietnam has been awarded the title of “Typical Enterprise for Work” five times since 2019. The recognition is given by the Vietnam Confederation of Trade Unions in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Disabled and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Confederation of Industry and Commerce. In addition, Nestlé Vietnam has been named Vietnam’s most sustainable company in the manufacturing sector three times thanks to its achievements in ESG practices.
