The first trailer for the new horror film “The Front Room” starring award-winning singer Brandy Norwood has been released.
Based on the short story of the same name by Susan Hill, the film “tells the story of a young, newly pregnant couple who are forced to take in an ailing stepmother who has long been estranged from the family” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
The film, released by A24, is set to premiere in the US on September 6. A UK release date has yet to be announced.

In the chilling trailer, Norwood’s character Belinda learns that her father-in-law has died and that his dying wish was for his son and daughter-in-law to take care of his wife.
“I’m ready to give you all my money,” says the ailing mother, to which her son (Andrew Burnap, “Snow White”) replies: “Everything in me tells me to run away.”
The family home soon falls apart when the mother’s religious devotion drives a wedge between the two characters. “She believes the Holy Spirit is possessed and giving her power,” explains Burnap.
