According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is close to signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Red Devils have made four new additions to their first-team squad this summer and are aiming for a fifth before the transfer deadline.
Ugarte is the priority target and the club could sign him soon. With Scott McTominay reportedly on his way to Napoli, United are ready to make a permanent transfer for the 23-year-old.
The Uruguayan has been waiting for United for some time and is ready to travel to Manchester as soon as a formal agreement is reached.

McTominay’s departure paves the way for Ugarte deal
United were recently in negotiations with Napoli over McTominay and were finally able to reach an agreement on the transfer fee.
The Red Devils graduate joins the Napoli team for ÂŁ25 million, and the financial boost is likely to encourage the club to speed up negotiations for Ugarte.
PSG stuck to their ÂŁ51m valuation for Ugarte. United could now be willing to pay the price for McTominay’s departure.
Ugarte would be a reinforcement for McTominay and Casemiro. Ugarte’s distribution and ball control would make him a guaranteed starter ahead of the Brazilian.
The former Sporting CP player completed 91% of his passes for PSG in Ligue 1 last season and would be an ideal fit in United’s midfield.
