OBITUARY
John H. Dingee, Jr. died on August 14, 2024, in Torrance, CA, surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old. Born in Philadelphia, he attended Central High School, class of 209. He later graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA with honors in English after serving as President of the Student Senate, ROTC Unit Commander, and President of his fraternity, Alpha Chi Rho. After serving as First Lieutenant with the 3/68 Armor, Eighth Infantry Division in Germany, he began a career in publishing that spanned four decades. For 24 years he was employed by the Chilton Company, Radnor, PA, where he served as media salesman, sales manager, editor, and director of international business. In 1987, he joined Cahners Publishing (most recently known as Reed Business Information) as Regional Manager for Purchasing Magazine, based in Philadelphia. During his fifteen years with Reed, he won numerous awards for excellence in sales. In 2003, he moved to Torrance, California and became an independent media representative for Trade Press Publishing and BNP Media. He is survived by his two children, Hal Dingee of Torrance, California, and Jennifer Dexheimer (Greg) of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and his four grandchildren, Samantha, Michael (Brooke), Erin (Ferm¡n), and Allan John. Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2200 Via Rosa, Palos Verdes Estates, California 90274. Tel.: 310-375-4617
