The past week has been a crucial one for the aviation and tourism industries in Israel. Over twenty airlines have canceled flights to Israel as Iran threatens retaliation for the assassination of Hamas politician Ismail Haniyeh. Although only three airlines have resumed operations in what is expected to be the busiest month of the year, many travelers to and from Israel are desperately seeking alternatives for their canceled flights.

Which international airlines have canceled flights to Israel and until when? We have compiled the information for you in an article that will be updated based on developments and decisions made by the airlines.

  • United Airlines has cancelled flights to Israel until further notice, while delta has cancelled flights until October 31st. American Airlines has cancelled flights until March 2025. This means El-Al is currently the only airline offering direct flights between the USA and Israel.
  • Croatia Airlines has suspended its flights for the coming days without specifying a return date.
  • Iberia Express from Spain has cancelled flights to Israel until August 20, as has China Eastern Airlines from China; one flight has been cancelled on this date so far. Vueling Spain has also cancelled its flights to and from Israel for the coming weeks.
  • LOT Polish Airlines has cancelled flights until August 28th.
  • The Lufthansa Groupwhich includes Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, has cancelled its flights until October 2nd.
  • Air Baltic has cancelled flights until August 25th.
  • Ryanair from Ireland has cancelled flights to Israel until the end of September.
  • Air India has suspended flights to and from Israel until October 24 and ticket sales on its website are blocked until October 27.

However, some airlines have already resumed operations: Bulgaria Air, Wizz Air, Air Europa, TAROM And Ethiopian Airlines have returned flights to Israel.
