Reality star sues American Airlines after consuming a drink with “broken plastic and shards”

A model and an actress have filed a lawsuit against American Airlines, claiming they suffered serious injuries after being served “broken plastic” in a drink.

Shana Wall, 51, who appeared in the twelfth season of The amazing race, and dated TV host Ryan Seacrest in the early 2000s, has sued the airline after injuring her throat, esophagus, vocal cords and digestive tract. The lawsuit, which was obtained by The Independent, claimed.

Her injuries were sustained when she was “served a drink in a glass containing broken plastic and shards” on an American Airlines flight from JFK Airport to Rome on May 1.

The lawsuit, filed on August 12, alleges that the airline “had a duty to provide beverages and food that were uncontaminated and fit for consumption,” but instead “caused and caused the dangerous, defective and unsafe conditions on the aircraft.”

The documents show that American Airlines provided its passengers with plastic cups for drinking during the flight.

Wall’s lawsuit alleges the drink was “contaminated” and “unfit for human consumption,” resulting in numerous serious and “permanent” injuries after she consumed the unspecified beverage.

The reality TV star claims that the drink, which allegedly contained plastic and broken glass, left her with “sickness, pain, lameness and disability” and also left her “housebound and bedridden,” the lawsuit states.

Wall claims that this has left her with a loss of enjoyment of life and an inability to perform her job duties, resulting in loss of wages and assets, and that she will continue to have to pay for treatment for her injuries.

Wall is demanding unspecified damages for the alleged negligence.

“The injuries referred to above were caused solely by the negligence, gross negligence, willful, wanton, reckless and quasi-criminal conduct of the defendant, its agents, servants, tenants and/or employees, pilots, flight attendants and others,” the lawsuit said.

The Independent has contacted American Airlines and Wall’s legal representatives for comment.
