Habitat for Humanity Korea has announced that Ong Seong Wu’s fan club ‘DC Inside Ong Seong Wu Gallery‘ donated 5,240,825 KRW (about 3,950 USD) to celebrate his birthday (August 25).
The donation will be used for Habitat for Humanity Korea’s project to build houses for the families of Korean independence activists. The fan club gave the donation a special meaning by combining the birth date of Ong Seong Wu’s official fan club with the name “Ong Seong Wu.”WELO‘ (May 24) with Ong Seong Wu’s birthday (August 25).
Fans who contributed to the donation said: “In honor of actor Ong Seong Wu’s birthday, we wanted to express our gratitude by remembering the sacrifices and dedication of the independence activists. We hope that this contribution can help improve the living conditions of their descendants.”
Habitat for Humanity Korea expressed its gratitude by saying: “We are grateful to the fan club for showing such a positive influence. The valuable donation will be used transparently to support the families of independence activists who live in poor housing conditions.”
Meanwhile, Ong Seong Wu joined the military in April last year and is currently serving. In addition to his debut as a member of the ‘Produce 101 Season 2‘ project group Wanna One, he is also known for his activities as an actor, appearing in both dramas and films. He is scheduled to be discharged from the military in October.
