A new independent homewares store has opened in Gloucester and the owner has described it as “a hidden gem full of affordable, unique and beautiful items”. Marina Homeware is located on Shepherd Road, just outside the city, and is open seven days a week.
Sean Sysum, 32, from Gloucester, started his business in 2021. He had a real love for interior design and wanted to start his own company and business to sell beautiful items that people could buy for their homes.
Sean said: “I founded Marina Homeware in 2021, offering exquisite homeware, gifts and home décor through our website, which has flourished over time. With a deep-rooted love of home decor and a penchant for exploring small family shops, I decided to expand our business.

“As our business expanded, we were looking for a small entity to open a physical store alongside our online presence where customers could stop by, browse and purchase gifts. Since opening last month, the store has been incredibly successful, with more customers coming in every week and so much great customer feedback.”
Sean hopes that the business will expand over time and his dream is to open more small Marina Homeware stores across the country.
He said: “Our little shop is a hidden gem full of affordable, unique and beautiful items that are ideal as gifts or for personal enjoyment. With new items added every week, it’s always a pleasure to stop by and have a look around.
