Spanish studio The Game Kitchen – author of two dark Metroidvanias “Blasphem” – has announced the release date of its new unusual game “The Stone of Madness”, designed in the style of paintings by 18th century artist Francisco José de Goya.

The story trailer for Stone of Madness was unveiled at gamescom 2024. It revealed that the game revolves around five previously unconnected prisoners in a prison in the Pyrenees. The events take place in the 18th century during the Inquisition.
The player must help the prisoners escape from prison by solving puzzles, looking for clues, carefully planning all actions and switching between characters to use their unique abilities.
An interesting nuance of The Stone of Madness is the possibility of deterioration of the mental state of the characters. The player must control the mental health of the protagonists so that they do not panic and keep their sanity.
The game includes two story campaigns, each with its own goals and tasks.
When can we expect it
The Stone of Madness is scheduled to be released in early 2025 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
