Oti Mabuse has set herself a task after admitting her daughter’s birthday present didn’t live up to her expectations. The former Strictly Come Dancing star celebrated her first birthday as a mother this week.
Oti appeared to be in Rome as she celebrated her 34th birthday with her husband Marius Lepure and their little daughter, whose name has not been publicly revealed.
And it was a post on her Instagram story where Oti revealed what happened on her special day. On a purple background, she typed: “My beautiful daughter gave me her first word today…”

She continued, “‘Daddy’. All day. Happy birthday to me. Thank you for all your lovely messages.” But the mother of one, who gave birth to her first child prematurely in October 2023, didn’t let it go.
In an update, she shared a video of herself mid-workout as her young daughter joined her and encouraged her to get up and move with her. The Dancing on Ice star admitted: “I’m still trying my best to get her to say mummy (crying laughing emoji).
Previously, Oti’s brother-in-law melted her heart as he spoiled his newborn niece. Sharing a picture of her sister and Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse’s husband Evgenij Voznyuk combing their daughter’s hair, Oti wrote: ‘I don’t know, maybe my hormones are going crazy right now but seeing my brother-in-law @evgenij_voznyuk doing my daughter’s hair makes me so emotional (crying face emoji).
“I’ve been looking at this photo all night long… he has a daughter of his own who is also mixed race, but to see him being just as careful with mine and knowing what to do, she loved it and she wasn’t in any pain – I think that’s great for her! Her hair will be an issue one day, but for now… UNCLE GOT HER BACK.”
Motsi was one of those who reacted to the post, writing: “They are both special people.” It Takes Two presenter Fleur East replied: “I love this,” while Strictly pro Nadiya Bychkova posted: “Ohhhh.”
