Which airlines can you book with JetBlue’s TrueBlue frequent flyer program?

Highlights

  • TrueBlue points can be earned on partner airlines such as JSX, Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair and others.
  • Points collection varies by airline and fare class, so there are many ways to collect and redeem rewards.
  • Mosaic benefits apply only to flights operated by JetBlue and not to flights operated by partner airlines.

JetBlue Airlines’ TrueBlue is one of the most popular loyalty programs. It was recently announced that the airline “seeks to raise $3.1 billion through a variety of measures, including guaranteeing a portion of the debt of its TrueBlue loyalty program.”

Simple Flying already has an excellent guide on how to redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points, but which airlines partner with JetBlue for the TrueBlue frequent flyer program? Let’s find out.

Carriers in the USA

JSX

JSX is a public charter jet service that describes itself as a “hop-on jet service.” This Texas-based airline is one of JetBlue’s TrueBlue partners. You can earn TrueBlue points on all public charter flights operated by JSX.

However, you cannot redeem points for travel on JSX because JetBlue requires: “The TrueBlue points you earn can only be redeemed for flights operated by JetBlue or select partners..”

Silver Airways

You can earn 250 points on flights operated by Silver Airways, regardless of the fare class you travel in.

Hawaiian Airlines

Here’s how many TrueBlue points you’re likely to earn when you fly to the Neighbor Islands with Hawaiian Airlines.

JetBlue also points out that it is not possible to use JetBlue points and cash together for award travel on Hawaiian Airlines:

“While Cash + Points allows you to stretch your cash or TrueBlue points to pay for JetBlue-operated flights and JetBlue Vacations packages, a combination of the two does not allow partial payments with points on award travel bookings on other airlines.”

Partnership with some airline giants in the Middle East

Emirates

Just a few months ago, JetBlue expanded its partnership with Etihad to renew the frequent flyer program of both airlines. On this occasion, Christopher Buckner, Vice President of Loyalty and Partnerships at JetBlue, expressed his delight with the following words:

“As a successful partner since 2014, we are excited to introduce loyalty benefits as part of our codeshare partnership with Etihad. This partnership expansion will provide both JetBlue TrueBlue and Etihad Guest members with more ways to earn and redeem points while traveling, making exploring both airlines’ network of top destinations even more rewarding.”

Qatar Airways

Just over a year ago, Simple Flying reported that JetBlue and Qatar Airways would “allow TrueBlue and Privilege Club members to book award flights through each other without dynamic pricing.” It’s important to note that you can’t earn Avios and TrueBlue points on the same flight.

Icelandair – the only European airline

You can earn JetBlue TrueBlue on flights operated by Icelandair to 15 countries, serving nearly 45 destinations, but how much you earn depends on the class of service.

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines offers a wide range of services covering more than a hundred destinations. You can earn TrueBlue points on flights operated by Singapore’s national carrier when you book flights on jetblue.com or singaporeair.com and enter your TrueBlue number.

TrueBlue points cannot be earned when booking economy flights in O, I, X, Q, N, V, K, L and G classes. First class flights in F or A classes and business class flights in Z, C, J, U and D classes have a 100% TrueBlue points credit. Premium economy flights in S, T or P classes allow you to earn 50% TrueBlue points. The credit rate is the same for economy flights in Y, B, E, M, H and W classes.

South African Airlines

While you can earn JetBlue TrueBlue points on flights operated by South African Airways, you cannot earn JetBlue TrueBlue points on flights operated by South African Airways partners such as SA Express and Airlink. Fare classes where you cannot earn JetBlue TrueBlue points include: X, I, N, R and E.

While in Business Class with fares C, J, Z and D you have the chance to collect 125% of the miles flown, in Economy Class with fares Y, B, M, K, H, S and Q you can collect 100% of the miles flown and in Discounted Economy Class with fares T, V, L, W and G you can collect 50% of the miles.

Some commonalities regarding TrueBlue’s partnership with airlines

While all of the above airlines offer the opportunity to earn JetBlue TrueBlue points based on the criteria described above, it is not possible to earn the Mosaic perks:

“Mosaic benefits apply to flights operated by JetBlue, but not to flights operated by our partner airlines. We recommend checking with the partner airline to see if they offer benefits or services to all passengers.”

To achieve Mosaic status with the airlines listed above, JetBlue follows the following steps:

“For codeshare flights booked on jetblue.com, you may only earn rewards on the JetBlue-operated portion of the itinerary, if applicable.”
