When Dilip Kumar’s film ‘Aan’ released in 1952, Saira Banu was just 8 years old. Even at that age, she started liking Dilip Kumar. Saira herself has told this in an interview. She loved Dilip Kumar with all her heart. Further, Saira told that she prayed to God that she too should become a big film heroine like her mother. And her fate repeated itself as Saira Banu got success at a very young age. After that, on October 11, 1966, Saira’s dream which she always had in her eye came true. The nightmare of a miscarriage
Dilip Kumar has said in his autobiography, Dilip Kumar – The Substance and the Shadow, that in 1976, Saira wanted to become a mother, but her child could not be saved due to high blood pressure in the 8th month. He was so devastated after the loss of his child that he decided never to have children again. They both accepted it as God’s will.
Dilip Kumar married for the second time 15 years after his wedding to Saira
15 years after his marriage to Saira Bano, Dilip Kumar married for the second time in 1981 to a social worker from Hyderabad, Asma Rehman. The superstar gave her the status of a second wife, although this also did not have any negative impact on Saira Bano and their relationship. Saira also accepted his second wife and did not complain. After about two years, Dilip Kumar realized his mistake and divorced Asma Rehman in 1983 and started living with Saira again. He even breathed his last next to her.
