“Saving USA’s Grace” Bobby Finke receives a special gift from NFL legend after heroic deeds at the Olympic Games in Paris

Bobby Finke arrived at the arena for the 1500m freestyle, the final event. Still reeling from the disappointment of his silver in the 800m, he was determined to stand on top of the podium. He overtook everyone else in the first 300m and held that status until the end of the race. His finishing time of 14:30.67 became a new world record, beating China’s Sun Yang’s previous time of 14:31.02. Finke had not only produced a performance for the history books, he had also preserved his nation’s pride by saving the 120-year-old record for a men’s individual gold medal at the Olympic Games.

He was then invited by the NFL legend Shannon Sharpe to his podcast to talk about his achievement. As the episode came to an end, he pleasantly surprised Finke with a reward. He began by saying that he, his subscribers and the whole nation were very proud of his performance in Paris. He then said that he wanted to show him how proud he was and then held up a check and showed it to the camera. The amount was $50,000. This touched Finke incredibly, because his face beamed with joy and he thanked him several times. Sharpe’s co-host Chad Johnsonjokingly said that he would have to compete against him to get the check. He said: “To achieve that, when you’re in Florida, we have to race.” Finke, still beaming with joy, said he would do whatever they wanted. It was a great sight, as the American swimmer deserves all the love and admiration for his performance.

Before the Olympic Games began, Shannon Sharpe promised that if Noah Lyles And Sha’Carri Richardson won the gold medal, he would pay them $25,000 each. Both of them managed to win gold, Lyles in the 100 meter dash and Richardson with the relay. I’m not sure if Sharpe has contacted them yet. He was also disappointed with the amount of $37,500 that athletes receive after winning a gold medal.

In the past, the US swim team has had some of the best male swimmers we’ve ever seen. Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz and Ryan Lochte are just a few names that spring to mind. They have always dominated at the Olympics. This year, however, their performance was not satisfactory, at least in the individual events. So much so that it threatened a long-standing record they had held since 1904, when the Olympics had only been held three times. It was the first time that gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded.

Since then, the United States male swimmers have won an individual gold medal at every single Olympic Games. This is one of the most impressive and longest-standing records in swimming history. But in Paris, it was in grave danger as the men struggled to win the competition. 13 of 14 individual events were over and the gold medal was nowhere in sight. The record seemed not only in danger, but possibly even broken. But Bobby Finke saved it by winning the gold medal, preserving his nation’s pride.
