Chris Jericho thought story with HOOK could make it to AEW All-In in May

Chris Jericho discusses his vision for the story with HOOK.

The storyline between Chris Jericho and HOOK began in March when Jericho wanted to take HOOK under his wing and give him some experienced advice. After a short period of working together, the two men became rivals, drawing Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, Big Bill and Bryan Keith into the storyline.

At AEW All In, HOOK will challenge Jericho for the FTW Championship.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Jericho said he thought they could take the rivalry to Wembley back in May.

“The story we had this year was six months ago and it was a good story. I really enjoyed working with Samoa Joe and Shibata and working with (Big Bill and Bryan Keith) on the Learning Tree. We got a lot of people involved in the story and brought a lot of people over. HOOK, the plan was for him to learn and get a great lead role on Dynamite and AEW. Around May I was like, ‘I wonder if we can do this after Wembley. I think we can. Let’s try it.’ And lo and behold, we did it. I’m really happy with everything about it. It’s going to be the culmination of this great story that we’ve told.” he said.

Jericho noted that this would be HOOK’s last chance at the FTW Championship.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jericho commented on the “please resign” chants. His full comments can be found here.
