Big Lots has announced the acquisition of its biggest Halloween bargain yet, after buying up an original $11 million worth of overstock from a well-known national party supply retailer. The deal includes hundreds of new Halloween items, including indoor and outdoor decorations, costumes for adults, children and pets, pumpkin carving kits, tableware, candy and more, sold at 50 to 70 percent off the original retail price.

This clearance sale adds to the assortment of unique and popular Halloween deals on decorations, candy and more, making Big Lots the nation’s largest Halloween discount retailer for the fall. Halloween items from this clearance sale will be available in-store for a limited time starting mid-August, with assortment varying by store.

“Our ongoing efforts to find high-demand products at unbeatable prices are only getting stronger, with new closeouts and truckloads of bargains hitting stores every week,” said Bruce Thorn, president and CEO of Big Lots. “This new closeout offer significantly increases our overall Halloween offerings, making this Halloween our biggest ever. Big Lots is the absolute must-stop and one-stop shop for the largest selection of Halloween bargains this season.”

The news of an expanded Halloween offering in 2024 may be bittersweet for some (including this author), as the retailer announced the closure of up to 315 stores across the country earlier this month.
