Penn State Athletics Announces Million Founder’s Gift for Revitalization of Beaver Stadium – Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Athletics today announced a $10 million founders’ gift to the Beaver Stadium revitalization project. The donor wishes to remain anonymous. This is the second founders’ gift to the project, in addition to the $25 million commitment from the Misitano family and PAM Health announced last week.

“This generous family has supported our department in many ways and we are so grateful to have them lead our revitalization fundraising efforts,” said Dr. Patrick Kraft, vice president for college athletics. “This gift is a unique symbol of a deep commitment to an important priority. We are so grateful for the support we received during the initial fundraising phase for this project.”

The Beaver Stadium Founders are the lead donors of the Beaver Stadium revitalization project, making transformative gifts in the eight-figure range or more. As founders, these benefactors play a vital role in ensuring Penn State Athletics can implement a renovation plan that not only preserves Beaver Stadium’s rich history, but also modernizes the facility and makes it a year-round venue. The Beaver Stadium Founders’ generous donations will be recognized on a plaza in front of Beaver Stadium upon completion of the renovation.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous support of this family, who wish to remain anonymous,” said Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi. “The members of this family truly embody what it means to be Penn Staters and have internalized the ‘We Are’ spirit. The revitalization of Beaver Stadium will have a tremendous impact on our campus and community, and we are excited to have loyal Penn Staters drive this forward and make it a reality.”

About the revitalization of Beaver Stadium

In May 2024, Penn State’s Board of Trustees approved an investment in a $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium that will increase revenue opportunities, enhance the fan and community experience, and secure future funding for all 31 Penn State athletic programs. The approved renovations will enable year-round use of Beaver Stadium, promoting economic growth and development in the surrounding region.
