Kelsey Plum’s career accolades are astounding. The WNBA veteran won back-to-back WNBA championships with the Las Vegas Aces in 2022 and 2023, not to mention All-Star and All-WNBA nominations, a notable college career, and two Olympic gold medals. Under Armour added Plum to its talent roster in 2022 and has since released a handful of player editions for the star. Now, just before Plum’s 30th birthday on August 24, the athletic apparel brand has just released two aptly named “Plum” sneakers in honor of its most important WNBA player.
The highlight is a gradient purple and gold colorway of the Breakthru 5 with special Kelsey Plum branding and “dew” drops that mimic the look of a fresh fruit. It’s the same model Plum typically wears on the court, and one she worked hand-in-hand with Under Armour to perfect and tailor specifically for female basketball players. Notably, it’s the first Kelsey Plum x Under Armour basketball shoe to actually launch, satisfying her massive fan base. Pairs are available now in women’s sizes for $135 here.
The other half of the shipment consists of a white, purple and gold Under Armour Apparition, one of the first sneaker models the brand ever released. The shoe is every bit a sneaker and offers Plum fans a way to support the athlete off the court. Again, we see gradient overlays and dewdrops scattered throughout the design.
