There is a possibility that Stahelski could hand John Wick 5 over to another director, although this is admittedly unlikely given his previous commitments.

In this scenario, two options are possible. The first is that there is a long gap between Highlanders and all sequels take place, giving Stahelski time to direct JohnWick 5 before returning to the previous franchise. The second reality is that Stahelski is renouncing directing Highlanders Sequels in favour of returning to the John Wick series, which could have a negative impact on the quality of the new franchise. Regardless of the Highlanders could run into this problem if Stahelski’s focus on the first film makes it the successful franchise that many believe it could become.
