Bilt Rewards removes Hawaiian Airlines as transfer partner

Bilt Rewards removes Hawaiian Airlines as transfer partner

Bilt Rewards was founded in 2021 with the primary goal of earning rewards on rental payments. Since then, the company has grown significantly and secured valuable 1:1 transfer partnerships with major airline and hotel loyalty programs.

But transfer partners come and go, and it seems that Bilt Rewards has adjusted its roster again … and the The last to go is Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMilesHere’s what you need to know about this latest development.

Bilt points can no longer be transferred to Hawaiian Airlines

Bilt Rewards is a popular, major currency for transferring points thanks to its generous list of transfer partners. Standout partners include World of Hyatt and American Airlines AAdvantage. However, the latter partnership ended in June this year.

To compensate for the loss of American as a partner, Bilt added a recording for: Alaska Airline mileage plan to his list. Despite numerous devaluations over the years, having Alaska as a transfer partner was a great move for the program overall. Alaska miles offer great award rates on short-haul flights and partner award tickets (like Japan Airlines) and, not to mention, Bilt is the only major currency that can be transferred to the Mileage Plan.

Now, Bilt has lost Hawaiian Airlines Mileage Plan as a transfer partneras confirmed by Bilt’s Vice President of Travel on X.

For this reason, Hawaiian Airlines will no longer appear as a transfer partner option in the Bilt Rewards app.

Is this a big loss for Bilt?

Today it was announced that The merger of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will move forwardbecause the Department of Justice (DOJ) ultimately decided not to pursue its investigation.

In addition, Bilt has stated that its original 3-year contract with Hawaiian Airlines has ended, eliminating the airline as a transfer partner. Given the impending merger Bilt claims that booking Hawaiian Airlines flights with Bilt points should be possible again, However, it is assumed that the frequent flyer programs of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will be merged into a single program.

Honestly, Hawaiian Airlines was never a convincing transfer partnerWe value Hawaiian miles at just 0.9 cents apiece – half our valuation of Bilt points at 1.8 cents apiece. However, this makes us question the profitability of Bilt’s other transfer partners going forward.

Hot tip:
