PARADISE – Dozens of people passed by, many stopping to take photos and videos, as a giant crane moved large pieces onto the new Honey Run Covered Bridge.
The large-scale construction work began on Tuesday morning when the 300-ton crane was lowered onto parts of the skeleton of the new bridge and connected before the structures were lifted from the ground.
Workers wearing hard hats and neon vests walked around preparing one load after another.
The covered bridge was one of many landmarks lost in the Camp Fire. Since the fire, local groups have been working to raise money to rebuild the bridge.
Construction work on the structure is expected to last until Wednesday.
