Leave a gift in your will

Leave a gift in your will

Your lawyer can determine the wording of a gift for you, but these suggestions may also be helpful:

A gift of money (a “financial” gift)

To prevent your gift from losing value over time, you can “index” it.

I leave to Breast Cancer Now of Ibex House 42-47 Minories London EC3N 1DY, charity registration number 1160558 in England and Wales, SC045584 in Scotland and 1200 in the Isle of Man, for charitable purposes the sum of £xxxxx and direct that receipt by the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be deemed to be sufficient discharge to my executors.

A gift of the remaining amount (a “residual gift”)

You can leave us a percentage of what is left after all your other monetary and in-kind donations have been distributed.

I leave xx% of my remainder of my estate to Breast Cancer Now of Ibex House 42-47 Minories London EC3N 1DY, charity registration number 1160558 in England and Wales, SC045584 in Scotland and 1200 in the Isle of Man, for charitable purposes and direct that receipt of the amount by the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be deemed to be sufficient discharge to my executors.

A gift of an object (a “specific” gift)

This is an item you want to leave behind. It could be anything from jewelry to a house.

I bequeath items xxxxx to Breast Cancer Now of Ibex House 42-47 Minories London EC3N 1DY, charity registration number 1160558 in England and Wales, SC045584 in Scotland and 1200 in the Isle of Man, for charitable purposes and direct that receipt by the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be deemed sufficient discharge to my executors.
