United Way of Missoula distributes 800 backpacks

The United Way of Missoula has donated 800 backpacks filled with school supplies to several partner organizations that will distribute them to students in need.

The following was sent by the United Way of Missoula:

On Monday, August 19, the United Way of Missoula County will distribute over 800 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students in the Missoula area just in time for the new school year.

Thanks to the generous support of Missoula Chevrolet, these backpacks benefit elementary, middle and high school students.

Distribution day will take place on Monday, August 19th at Missoula Chevrolet. Several United Way partner organizations will pick up the backpacks and distribute them to students in need through their respective offices.

This commitment ensures that students are well prepared and equipped for the upcoming school year, reducing the burden on families and helping students succeed in school.

Partners include Soft Landing, Youth Homes, Missoula Food Bank and Community Center, Missoula Fire Department, and Mineral County Public Schools.

Half of this year’s backpacks will go to Missoula County Public Schools; they will receive them early.
