Suri Cruise is starting a new beginning in college life at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The 18-year-old began her move-in process on Sunday and will begin classes on August 26.
Sources close to Suri have revealed that she can’t wait to dive into this new chapter: “Suri wants the full college experience, so she’s trying out dorm life and will be looking for a roommate. She’s excited about what’s to come.”
Gone are the days of living in her mother Katie Holmes’s luxurious three-bedroom high-rise. Instead, she will live in Carnegie Mellon University’s Donner House, a modest four-story dorm that houses nearly 250 first-year students.
Despite the basic accommodations, the Carnegie Mellon campus offers some attractive amenities, including a variety of on-campus restaurants serving cappuccinos, croissants, pasta and smoothies, as well as a state-of-the-art wellness center.
Suri’s new environment promises a mix of academic rigor and vibrant campus life as she begins her studies.
The residence offers a variety of room options, from single to triple accommodation, with some rooms having two bunk beds to accommodate up to four students.
Most rooms are equipped with the basic furniture: a single bed with storage underneath, a chest of drawers with five drawers, a desk with three drawers and a chair.
Donner House, a traditional four-story dormitory, houses approximately 240 first-year students and features a large common room on the first floor.
The dorm’s website highlights its community spirit and proudly chooses the blue whale as its mascot.
“What has a bigger heart than a blue whale? (Answer: nothing.)” says the website, underlining the close and supportive atmosphere within the large dorm.
