While the Big 12 and SEC get a lot of attention for their basketball prowess, the Big East remains a top team not only when it comes to winning championships, but also when it comes to bringing players into the league.
Eight of the 58 players selected in the 2024 NBA Draft came from the Big East, including four from the national champion UConn Huskies. The class itself was long considered weak by draft experts due to a lack of star power at the top, although the general opinion regarding the depth of talent is now more positive.
This is confirmed when looking at the rookie ratings for the upcoming NBA 2K25 video game. Each rookie has an overall rating between 75 and 68 – and while draft slot currently heavily influences rating, since no games have been played yet, there are still some interesting data points to analyze.
