CM Punk hits back at claims he’s a locker room “cancer” – TJR Wrestling

CM Punk has fired back at widespread criticism.

Before his return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk’s reputation probably needed to undergo rehabilitation.

The star initially left WWE in 2014 under extremely acrimonious circumstances before being involved in two major backstage incidents at AEW – the second of which led to his firing.

Before his return to WWE, CM Punk was called a “cancer” by Seth Rollins, and there were reports that several figures in AEW agreed. However, the man himself has been upset about the allegations.

During an appearance on the Masked Man Show during Fanatics Fest NYC, it was pointed out to Punk that many expected the problems he had in AEW to follow him upon his return to WWE.

“This is all bullshit. None of it is reality. ‘Oh, he’s a cancer.’ Listen, not everyone is nice to me. I treat you accordingly. If you’re a piece of shit and you act like that to me, I’m going to treat you like that. If you’re nice and you smile and you want to have fun, then let’s have fun. I’m all for you.

It’s not that I’m two different people, there are just certain people who spread these lies and say these things about me because they can’t control me and they can’t control what I do and what I say. They absolutely hate that and so they try to control the way other people think about me or see me. That’s bullshit. You have to make your own judgement and draw your own conclusions.”

CM Punk wants match with WWE legend

In the same interview, CM Punk also talked about a possible match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41. Austin had previously hinted that he might appear at the event, but has recently distanced himself from the idea of an in-ring comeback.

Punk said a match between the two would depend on Austin, but added, “If he wants to go to sleep, he can call me.”
