Johannes Apreaone of the stars of “The Godfather Part II” and “Full House,” has died of natural causes… TMZ has learned.
His manager Will Levine tells us… the actor passed away on August 7 at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his family.
John described his role as the young Salvatore Tessio as his greatest career achievement. He originally auditioned for the role of Michael Corleone in the original version of The Godfather, which of course Al Pacino. But, Francis Ford Coppola He called Aprea back for the 1974 sequel.
Actually, John’s successful career began with another classic: he made his acting debut in 1968 in Steve McQueen’s “Bullitt”.
In the 80s and 90s he appeared in several television shows, including “Under the California Sun,” “Falcon Crest,” “The Gangster Chronicles,” and “Full House” – now that’s quite a range!
Aprea played Nick Katsopolis, the father of John Stamos’ character Uncle Jesse – and returned in that role for the reboot of “Fuller House”.
He also made some appearances on daytime television, appearing in two different roles on “Another World” for several years.

His friend and former Under the California Sun co-star Paul Carafotes posted a touching tribute to Aprea, saying, “Many will miss this man.”
John was 83.
