The interior design was created by Pola Sięka from the Takie Wnętrze studio. Her task was to divide a large apartment into two smaller ones that, despite their smaller size, would provide everything necessary. An eclectic interior was created in Podhale, which is available for rent.
Colourful Asylum is a design for two apartments in Podhale, created by dividing a large room. The architect deliberately avoided motifs typical for the region, such as mountain ornaments or folk decorations; the apartments were to be completely different.
The owner of the apartments is interested in architecture and design and has prepared inspiration boards to help the designer in her work.
When I saw their inspiration boards I was extremely pleased, I knew it would be an apartment that would not lack color, says Pola Sięka.
Two separate apartments for short-term rental were separated from an apartment building. In both apartments, red is the dominant color. In the studio apartment, the red can be seen in the kitchen furnishings, and in the apartment with a mezzanine, it is the intense color on the wall that catches the eye. The interior of this apartment breaks with conventions. The interior was designed to fully reflect the personality of the investor. Therefore, in addition to the color used, the rest of the interior is also simple and muted. It forms the background for sophisticated furniture and appliances.
There is a smaller studio apartment which has a kitchenette and a sofa bed. On the upper floor there is a larger apartment with a mezzanine floor. The existing sloping roof was quite a challenge there, but the available space could be used well here.
The design work was preceded by an analysis of the functional layout.
An important element of my designs is to create as much storage space as possible, so many built-in pieces were custom-made by a local carpenter.”, adds the designer.
The two bathrooms are also distinctive. In the studio, the bathroom is decorated with tiles in a brick tone with printed geometric patterns by Marazzi. On the upper floor, however, the room is characterized by tiles in shades of blue, also with a geometric pattern from the same manufacturer. This is complemented by the brushed gold fittings.
The result is an eclectic interior that breaks the pattern of Podhale interiors.
