SINGAPORE – National carrier Singapore Airlines (SIA) will launch its first nonstop flight to London’s Gatwick Airport in June 2024.

The flights will be operated five times a week with the long-haul variant of the Airbus A350-900, the airline announced on Monday (December 18).

Subject to regulatory approval, flight SQ310 will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The inaugural flight will depart Singapore for Gatwick Airport on 21 June 2024 at 23:55 (local time) and arrive in London on 22 June 2024 at 6:25 (local time).

The return flight, flight SQ309, will operate from Gatwick Airport to Singapore on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The first return flight will depart on 22 June 2024 at 10:15 am (local time) and arrive in Singapore on 23 June 2024 at 6:20 am.

The total number of SIA flights to London increases to 33 per week

Together with the current four daily connections to London Heathrow Airport, SIA will offer a total of 33 weekly connections to the British capital – compared to the current 28 weekly connections. SIA also flies five times a week to Manchester Airport.

London Gatwick Airport is located in the south-east of England and provides transport services to central London. Trains connect travellers directly to major hubs such as London Blackfriars, London Bridge, City Thameslink, St. Pancras International and London Victoria.

“London has always been a very important market for the Singapore Airlines Group. With the launch of this new service to London Gatwick Airport, Singapore Airlines customers will have an additional flight to choose from when flying between Singapore and the UK, as well as additional travel options to other destinations in Europe and the Asia Pacific,” said Dai Haoyu, Deputy Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines.

Stewart Wingate, CEO of London Gatwick, said: “Given the significant increase in trade between the UK and Singapore in recent years, the service also offers exciting opportunities for local and regional businesses.”

Tickets for these flights to Gatwick Airport will be gradually available for sale through SIA’s various sales channels from Tuesday (19 December).
