The card is likely to be a “popular” addition to Bristol’s film card collection

A new citywide map showing filming locations from the television series “Outlaws” has been released.

Bristol Film Office has joined forces with Visit Bristol and Bristol UNESCO City of Film to Film card “The Outlaws of Bristol”.

Bristol City Council said film tourism was becoming increasingly popular and hoped to give fans “entertaining insights” into the “real-life locations” they had seen on screen.

Actor Stephen Merchant, who stars in the series, said the team wanted to ensure that “the whole of Bristol feels part of this story”.

Mr Merchant said the series “does not belong to the Outlaws, it belongs to Bristol”

“It didn’t belong to the Outlaws, it belongs to Bristol,” he said.

“We really wanted to make sure we presented Bristol in every light.

“When people come up to me when I’m out and about, they talk about how much they like the show, and they always mention the streets they recognize, the buildings they recognize, the art on the walls they love.”

“Prominent filming locations”

Laura Aviles, head of film at Bristol City Council, said The Outlaws had been an “incredible show” for the city and she expects the film card to become a popular addition to her collection of cards featuring various Bristol-related films and shows.

“This addition to the collection presents a selection of the most famous filming locations from the 17 episodes of The Outlaws,” she said.

“As film tourism and ‘set jetting’ become increasingly popular, we hope this map will provide residents and city visitors who are fans of the series with a fun glimpse into the real-life filming locations they’ve seen on screen.”
