In response to growing public concern, officers conducted a special shoplifting raid at the Fred Meyer store on Evergreen Way last Tuesday.
This Fred Meyer location has been in the news several times, including because of a car explosiona bank robbery, an armed pharmacy robbery and shootings. It was also the site of a no-sit order a year ago.
Police forces included the Community Outreach and Enforcement Team (COET), the Community Bicycle Unit (CBU) and the South Administrative Sergeant.
As a result of their joint efforts 3 thefts were prevented, 4 people were booked into the Snohomish County Jail, 2 people received summonses, 60 fentanyl tablets and a small amount of fentanyl powder were seized, and stolen merchandise valued at approximately $425 was recovered..
The focus on shoplifting is to focus law enforcement on deterring and prosecuting shoplifters, which negatively impact both our businesses and members of our community.
