Gophers baseball coach John Anderson: Improvises with Dawn Mitchell

This week on “Unscripted with Dawn Mitchell”: newly retired Gopher head baseball coach John Anderson.

Anderson retired this year after 43 seasons with the Gophers and as the winningest coach in Big Ten history with 623 Big Ten wins.

One of Anderson’s top priorities was to help his players become good students and capable men. He prepared them for both life and the baseball field – and experienced great victories in both areas.

Anderson says he is proud of the many relationships he has built over those 43 years, as well as the 23 players who went on to play professional baseball under his tutelage.

During his tenure, the Gophers won 11 Big Ten regular-season titles and 10 Big Ten Tournament titles – a conference-best total – not to mention 19 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Anderson rounded out his career with 1,390 total wins and as the longest-tenured coach in Gopher Athletics history.

Find out all about it and more this week on Unscripted.
