Dell no longer sells many third-party items (headphones, etc.)

Now the funeral march can begin: Dan’s Deals reports that Dell.com is stopping selling many third-party peripherals. Things like Bose headphones, Google Pixel Buds, Logitech mice, and most Pixel Watches are now gone from Dell.com and won’t be returning. That’s a huge bummer for those of us who are used to buying these things from Dell to use up semi-annual Dell credits.

Dell no longer sells many third-party items (headphones, etc.)

Dan’s Deals reports that they reached out to Dell after a reader tipped them off that Dell was no longer selling Bose headphones or earbuds. We’ve sometimes seen things like this come in stock and then sell out over time, but Dell confirmed to Dan’s Deals that they have stopped selling a number of third-party peripherals with the following statement:

Over the past three years, we have invested heavily in building our client peripherals. As a result, over the summer we stopped selling a number of third-party peripherals on Dell.com. We will continue to sell third-party products in complementary categories that closely align with our business.

Dan reports that Bose speakers are still being sold through Dell, but headphones and earbuds are already sold out. Google Pixel Buds and Logitech mice are also gone (I have a box at home with several sets of Pixel Buds Series A and a couple of Logitech Performance MX mice, as I like both products and wanted to have replacements in case I inevitably break or lose one in transit. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to restock these in the future).

I suspect that many third-party items still on the site have a limited lifespan. If you have Dell credits left and were planning on using them on non-Dell products, you might want to place an order sooner rather than later. I’m in the process of ordering some Nintendo Switch games that I was planning on buying just before the holidays. While the prices aren’t great and these items may stay with Dell, I’d rather spend a few credits now on something I know I’ll buy than be left with an even more limited selection in a few months.
