Shana Wall was seriously injured when she swallowed plastic pieces from a drink served to her on an American Airlines flight. The 50-year-old actress, who once dated Ryan Seacrest, has filed a lawsuit against the airline, seeking unspecified damages. Wall was served the contaminated drink while flying to Rome from John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York.

The former contestant on the reality TV show The Amazing Race suffered injuries to her throat, esophagus, vocal cords and digestive tract after consuming the laced drink on May 1, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court. After the incident, Wall was bedridden because she required medical attention for internal injuries.

“(American Airlines) had a duty to provide beverages and food that were uncontaminated and fit for consumption,” the model argued in her lawsuit, adding that this “caused the dangerous, defective and unsafe conditions on the plane.” The California native dated the 49-year-old television presenter from 2003 to 2005.
Before her current role as a sommelier, Wall appeared on television shows such as Married with Children and Entourage, according to IMDb. The actress, who now lives in the Meatpacking District, also works as a staff writer for men’s magazine Best Life.

While Wall and her lawyers have remained tight-lipped about the lawsuit, her social media posts following the incident in mid-May show her enjoying a few glasses of Barolo in Italy. Wall has a sizable following of more than 11,000 followers on Instagram, with whom she regularly provides insights into her personal and professional life.
