After the crash in Brazil, the airline is being monitored more closely

Following the plane crash in Brazil a week ago that killed 62 people, the airline VoePass will be placed under special supervision, the civil aviation authority ANAC announced on Saturday.

“Given the current situation following the plane crash and taking into account human factors, the Agency considers it important to intensify the ongoing monitoring and control of the services provided by the company and to establish parameters to avoid operational anomalies,” ANAC said after a meeting with VoePass representatives.

On August 9, an airline plane flying from Cascavel in the state of Paraná to São Paulo crashed into a residential area of the city of Vinhedo shortly before reaching its destination.

All 58 passengers and four crew members lost their lives. According to initial findings, the ATR 72 turboprop passenger aircraft lost a lot of altitude within a very short time. Experts are investigating ice formation on the wings as a possible cause of the crash.

The plane’s black box is currently being evaluated. In the voice recorder recording, the co-pilot can be heard asking the pilot what was going on, reported TV Globo, citing investigators.

The captain reportedly replied that they had to accelerate to stabilize the plane and prevent it from crashing, but that was not possible. At the end of the recording, screams could be heard.
