Did this American Airlines first class passenger pay for his upgrade by selling “OnlyFeet” pictures during the flight?
Bare feet on an airplane are so bad for the other passengers in the cabin that one time a passenger with smelly feet drove another so crazy that the other was stabbed to death in the parking lot upon arrival.
But people don’t just take off their shoes and socks and stick their feet in the air. They photograph their own bad behavior for posterity.

Or maybe they’re doing something even more nefarious? There’s a whole online market for foot pictures, maybe there’s a subset of people looking for photos of feet on airplanes? With high-speed WiFi on board, they can take the photos, upload them, and make money even before they land.
When flight attendants at American Airlines faced forced furloughs during the pandemic in 2020, one crew member had a solution. She created a course that showed her colleagues how to sell foot pictures online for $10.
Apparently not every foot picture can be made money, even online. “There are well-known poses in the foot fetish community that need to be perfected and opportunistic scammers to be wary of.” What I don’t understand – and I guess this is the advice to pay money for it – is how do you get people to pay for something that is probably already available for free all over the internet?
I guess the passenger here is savvy enough to be able to fly first class if you can call an American Airlines Airbus A320, which still has US Airways’ low-cost seats more than a decade after the merger, first class. Then again, feet don’t have to be attractive for many people to afford that lifestyle, since American sells upgrades for as little as $40.
