Australia’s largest whisky tasting

Buffalo Trace aims to make history in Sydney this Father’s Day weekend by hosting the largest whisky tasting event Australia has ever seen, and you can be a part of it!

On the evening of August 31, fans of the Kentucky distillery’s liquid gold will gather at the legendary Henson Park football field in Marrickville, which will be transformed into a paradise for whisky lovers for one night only.

Buffalo Trace’s event will take place following the afternoon’s Newtown Jets vs. Warriors game – which you’ll also get access to with your whiskey tasting ticket – and will seat 250 guests around a 300-foot-long table to sample the bourbon master’s finest. The evening will also serve as a celebration of Buffalo Trace’s 250th anniversary, cementing its status as the oldest operating distillery in the United States.

In addition to the delicious whiskies, visitors will also be treated to a feast from Sydney’s famous Black Bear BBQ restaurant – including a piece from a giant rotating pork skewer. The whole event will be hosted by comedian and football star Andrew Barnett and Buffalo Trace whiskey expert Gee David. Barnett will provide the laughs while David will provide fascinating insights into the history of Buffalo Trace with stories you won’t hear anywhere else. Together they are sure to bring the house down.

A night of extraordinary dramas

Over the course of the evening, hosts will walk guests through a number of notable varietals from the legendary distillery, including Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey, Weller Special Reserve Wheated Bourbon and Buffalo Trace Distillery Bourbon Cream. Additional beverages will also be served on the evening and the brand has some special surprises in store that we can’t reveal here.

Perhaps the most remarkable element of this event is that despite being worth over AUD$500, each ticket costs just AUD$35! For that, you can sample the world’s finest bourbons, devour delicious barbecue, enjoy the insight of a true whisky expert and cheer on the Newtown Jets as they play the Warriors.
